FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What actually is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses guided focus and relaxation to help you access your subconscious mind, the part responsible for habits, emotional patterns, and automatic responses.
The approach I use is solution-focused hypnotherapy, which doesn’t dwell on the past. Instead, we work together to retrain thought loops, strengthen focus, and build positive momentum using real neuroscience and proven techniques.
Will I lose control or be unconscious?
No. You stay in control the whole time.
Hypnosis isn’t sleep or mind control. It’s more like a daydreaming state. You’ll be relaxed, aware, and able to stop at any time. Most clients describe it as deeply calming and surprisingly powerful.
How do sessions work online?
Sessions are held via Zoom, and I’ll guide you through everything. You’ll need:
- A quiet, private space
- Headphones (optional but recommended)
- A device with a working camera and microphone
Many clients find working from home actually makes them feel safer, calmer, and more focused.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different.
Some clients feel a shift after just a few sessions. Others prefer ongoing support over several weeks. We’ll talk about what works best for your goals, budget, and schedule.
What if I’ve tried to change before and failed?
That’s exactly why hypnotherapy can help.
It doesn’t rely on willpower alone. We work at the root level to shift what drives your habits: stress, emotional cycles, dopamine triggers, and subconscious loops.
Do I need to sign anything before we start?
Yes. Before your first session, you’ll complete a Client Consent and Agreement Form.
This ensures you understand:
- What to expect from the process
- How your information is kept safe and confidential
- Your rights under GDPR
You can fill it out online in just a few minutes.
Is everything confidential?
Yes.
What we discuss is completely private, unless there is a serious risk of harm (which I’m legally and ethically required to act on).
Your personal information is treated with full discretion and care, both in and out of sessions.
Can this help with compulsive social media, gaming, or adult content use?
Yes. That’s exactly what I specialise in.
These behaviours are often coping mechanisms, shaped by hidden emotional patterns, dopamine cycles, and stress overload.
Hypnotherapy helps you break the loop and build lasting self-control, clarity, and balance.
Are you a qualified and registered professional?
Yes. I’m a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a full member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
I work to their professional standards and ethical code, ensuring sessions are safe, confidential, and evidence-based.
